    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1483">kgross</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 24024<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> March&nbsp;06&nbsp;2008 at 12:50am<br /><br />For the glue you want to use the Red Hot, or the Rain or Shine glue from Oatey.&nbsp; They have more solids in them and work much much better than the normal glue.&nbsp; With 1 inch the normal will usually work ok, but if you do much work with the 1.5 and 2 inch the normal pvc glue just does not cut it.&nbsp; Many times you can twist it apart pretty easily with the normal glue.<br><br>Another place to look for other sizes is pool and spa shops.&nbsp; Here in Idaho, I normally get my at Twin Dolphin Pool and spa, a lot less expensive than HD or Lowes, plus I can get 2 inch to setup my closed loop pumps with.<br><br>Kim<br>IMAS President<br>www.jensalt.com<br><br>]]>

I used the regular PVC glue (very carefully, and with primer)&nbsp;and had leaks. I ended up tearing it apart and redoing it based on Dion's advice. Christys Red Hot Blue Glue is rated for flexible PVC in standard fittings.  I've used regular glue, but it doesn't say that it's compatible.  I would just use the Christys stuff.<br /><br />For a bigger selection, go to the link Adam wrote.  I get my hart-to-find stuff as well as loc-line from them.]]>
