Cody, I've used X10's for my security system and I have found that they are not reliable if you don't have them plugged directly into a house plug since the messaging system is relayed through the house wiring.  I always wondered how it worked with a tank setup because of the powerstrip issue.  It seems like it would kind of be a hit and miss thing.

With that said, do you want to sell your X10 stuff for a good price? Big%20smile

I've used and installed X10 and Insteon relays and switches in the past. Do you have any specific questions?

Has anyone used Insteon for reef control? I know it's better than X10, but I don't know if it solves any of the reef specific problems.

I was thinking of getting 3 Insteon relays (for actinic, daylight, and moonlights) and a PowerLinc serial controller so that I can time all my lights (currently on lamp timers)

It would be about $100 for the 3 relays and $60 for the PowerLinc, but I would be able to control other lighting in my house that is on Insteon.

I would consider going the Neptune Systems route if it wasn't too much money. How much does an AC Jr. and DC4 cost?

I don't know about the X-10 an interference but I do know the DC-8 is the way to go!Clap I have never had a problem with mine.
