    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1216">Angel</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 10498<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> February&nbsp;16&nbsp;2006 at 7:36pm<br /><br /><P>&nbsp;On the vertical idea, I read a post recently where they were talking about cutting the top piece curved and then adding cut vertical pieces.&nbsp; The image is that the same way your mouth is curved and your teeth are vertical but they fit the curve.&nbsp; </P><P>Another idea is that since the curved part doesn't bear any weight it can be made of a much thinner piece of nice plywood.&nbsp; Soak that piece and glue/ nail it.&nbsp; Since the curve isn't too severe it isn't much of a stretch.&nbsp; </P><P>Now I havn't actually done any of these things myself.&nbsp; <IMG src="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0"></P><P>Connie</P>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=288">dnellans</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 10498<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> February&nbsp;16&nbsp;2006 at 4:57pm<br /><br />for such a small tank you could actually cut a bowed piece out of a single piece of wood most likely.&nbsp; that would be by far your easiest option in natural wood.<br><br>other than that you are left with steam bending and or laminating sheets of wood against stays to make a bent top.&nbsp; both are certainly not beginner or even casual woodworking projects but can be done with patience and practice.<br><br>if you are making a rectangular stand i think the bow front tank is going to look goofy on it and a bowed hood would accentuate the fact it doesn't fit the stand "properly"&nbsp; i would suggest possibly leaving the top open and getting a nice looking light fixture that sits on the top of the tank.<br>]]>
