HELP MY CANISTER FILTER IS LEAKING AGAIN AFTER I REPLACED THE SEAL A MONTH AGO!

IF YOU HAVE A CHEAP SMALL SUMP WITH A RETURN PUMP(10GAL OR BELOW) THAT WORKS PLEASE MESSAGE ME ASAP!

Not that I'm of much help, but I had a Magnum 350 and the seal on the top would leak. I found, leak after leak ect..., that if you put a small film of vaseline on it, it would seal. Don't know your exact situation but...

heat the o-ring in hot water for a few minutes, dry it off, apply a thin layer of vaseline, put o-ring on try not to roll/twist it while putting it on, install top unit making sure the shutoff valves (if you have them) are open. i always thought i needed a new oring but this has worked for me for years. hope it helps.

I actually tries this idea first and its workung so far. Im also building a small sump now. Just got home from lowes but.if anyone has a return pump that will fit 3/4 inch hose let me know price please

I hate canisters. I had a canister before I put a sump on my old tank and it fought me tooth and nail! I will never go back to canisters.

That was a question I was going to ask (about canisters). Canisters look like they'd be so simple.
