I got one of these this year and really like it. Almost all of the LFS carry it, but don't buy it at Petco. I only use a heater in the winter, because in the summer the warm lights help keep the water around 75 which is actually a very safe temperature. Unfortunately I can't have my lights heat up my aquarium due to them being LEDs :/. Thank you for the response! |

LED's are changing the hobby for sure. Oh, btw, we've had many discussions about this here, so forgive me if you already know this, but it's generally best to buy an undersized heater or maybe two. That way, if the heater malfunctions, which they typically do in the ON position, you'll have time to notice the thermometer showing a slow rise in temperature. A too high wattage heater will swiftly cook the tank.
