So recently the pump on my G2 skimmer went out. I bought a new pump which is a bit more powerful than the previous model, but it doesnt seem to be producing bubbles.

I have two ideas as to what is happening:

1. Tank has nothing to skim (this could be the case as it is a 75g tank and this skimmer is rated for a 180. I also don't have a ton of life in my tank.

2. The flow rate is too high and either over skimming, or not allowing the proper motion?

Have you checked your venturi? I did the same thing with my old g2 went from a 3000 pump to a 5000 pump I beleive, but it worked great.
