I have a skunk cleaner shrimp that just set up a cleaning station and was working over my Tail Spot.  Is that something that they always do or only rare individuals?  I was under the impression that it wasn't that common in aquariums.

I don't think it is that rare. It is cool to watch though!

My cleaner shrimp will "ride" the fish around the tank until it is done cleaning. It is quite the sight.

So most cleaners will do this?

I'm not sure it is most but it is a good percentage. Sometimes it is the fish that don't cooperate. My cleanershrimp and peppermint shrimp climb on my hand to clean it as soon as I put it in the tank.

I would love to see that one in person. Or even a vidio, Heck a quick snapshot will do.

Jeff, I don't have class tonight so I'm sure I can sit in front of the tank and try to at least get a picture. Granted it won't be of Mike's calibur of work, but I should be able to get something if the shrimp and fish will cooperate.

While we are on the topic, I am looking to get a peppermint shrimp.  Never had one before, is there anything I need to know?  How likely is my condy going to make a quick snack of him?  If my neon gobie doesn't make an appearance soon I will be looking for a cleaner shrimp as well.  What kind do you all prefer?

Thanks,

Wendy

I have a peppermint shrimp in my 10 gallon and he is out most of the time. I have had them in larger tanks and seldom seen them.

My peppermints both disappeared in my 29. I could find them if I looked and then one day they were both gone. I pulled all of the rock out and still never found either of them. I think they would do better in a smaller tank.
