Actually they're crustaceans, more specifically isopods. Typically they're referred to as sand skaters. From what I've read, they're a beneficial critter that basically feeds on detrius. Addtionally, from what I understand they're not very common in home aquaria. IMO this likely due to the predators that are regularly kept with them.

Just below the FDWs tube you can see another smaller but similar critter. So far I've been assuming they're skater babies.

I've been trying to get a shot of my Munnid isopods but they're not cooperating so far...

Is that actually an Astrea egg? I thought they were long string-like things? I was guessing they were nassarius or nerite. I'm not sure how stomas reproduce, but that was an idea as well.

Nope, no worm in there. The sponges seem to catch, store and I'm guessing eat the stuff?

I think they were burried but I'm not sure. Regardless, I do have a bunch of FDWs that live in the sand. In that shot you can spot a few of them as red blurs in the background.

Looks like good(?) planeria around that red feather duster worm!

How many eggs are in an Astrea snail egg case?

Is there a worm living and depositing detritus within the structure of that sponge?
