I am getting a 150g and the center brace on it is broken and I need to fix it I kinda know how to do it but if some of you can post some picks or give there expert info on it that would help. glass or acrylic and what kind of adhisive did you use and where did you get it? Thanks mike |

Cut out the old brace and smooth it so that you can place a 4" wide piece of acrylic sitting on the plastic frame. Use Acrylic Weld-on #3 and clamp it to help it bond. I didn't have any luck getting acrylic glues to stick to the tank brace. I tried Weld-on 4 and 16. What I did was drill small holes through both the acrylic brace and the old old tank brace, then bolted them together using nylon (plastic) nuts and bolts. Using nylon bolts was my best suggestion too, until I saw it done at MSM. you get the acrylic from regional supply and the nylon nuts and bolts from Lowes

I have an idea, why not do both? Glue it and then drill it and bolt it? Seems like it could only make it that much stronger? Then again I have always been a fan of overkill. So probably just one or the other would suffice. ------------- Shaun Duke 60g reef |

I do want my own tank I'm getting the excisting 55 as an agressive tank.. He will end up taking care of it though.. But flowers still would have been nice.... Plus that thing has 6 inches on me for height...It's HUGE!!!!!! |
