Anyone here currently have any guppies living in full marine conditions? I'm interested in the idea and wanted to see what other people have experienced with it.

I started with 13 a couple months ago and have one left. The twelve that died were shreaded to pieces by an eel. He doesnt like the taste so he spits them out after he kills them

Did you acclimate them to the salt water yourself? If so how long did it take to get them converted?

They were originally from Seabase. Im not sure about acclimating FW ones but have heard it can be done.

Seabase has mollies not guppies.

You can actually buy salt water feeder guppies if you would like.  I would stick to mollies as they are easy to come by and acclimate easily into salt water.

Do mollies do significantly better than guppies in salt water?

Here are pics of a female Molly and a male Molly that Seti007 caught at Sea Base. I've had them in one of my reef tanks for months. I tried to get a pic of them together but they just wouldn't hold still. There is also a lone baby Molly in the tank. I'm surprised that the Kupang Damsel hasn't eaten it.

MArk, good to see that they are doing ok. I have about 15 or so and a whole bunck of babies. The babies all end up in my sump and seem to be growing good. Jordanh, if you'd like some, come by after the 25th (im out of town until then) and you can have some free.

For a time, I caught Mollies at Sea Base to feed to my Dwarf Lion. I just threw ~75 x 1" Mollies in the tank and the Lion ate whenever it was hungry.
