Plumbing the Bashsea 48" Sump
This week, although we had technical difficulties with the sound and I could have thrown my camera into the ocean after finding out...we got this beautiful beast plumbed up and officially started moving water!

4 sands, 1 tank...which looks the best?
We have 4 types of sand added to the tank finally, which do you like the best??? I personally am liking the Tonga Pink!

Tank Series - Running Carbon in your Skimmer?! NO
We did a deep clean on the Nyos Skimmer, and just happen to find a few pieces of carbon inside. Thankfully nothing was damaged, but it DEFINITELY hindered the product and efficiency of the skimmer. Moral of the Story: Clean your equipment! :D

Tank Series - NEW Corals are going for a DIP!
This week we received some gorgeous new zoanthids from Rob off of Facebook, who has a TREMENDOUS collection of corals!! But, before we put them in the system, we need to make sure they are clean and free of any pests that could have traveled on them. I don't have much doubt they are already pest free, but always better safe than sorry!

Tank Series - Get yourself a Python for your Tank, especially freshwater!
I love this piece of equipment...especially if you have a freshwater tank, I would HIGHLY recommend this one!! FYI, the more you turn on your sink, the more powerful suction you'll get. I didn't have AS strong because I didn't turn on the water at the sink fully. There are plenty of uses to have this piece of equipment in your arsenal!

Please keep in mind this is more or less going to give a good reference for what I have going, and show just how easy it is to use this meter. Technically my arm/hand probably got in the way for the reads since it has a wide lens to get the readings. :). But we have some great readings and my corals seem to be loving it! :D. Tank Series - Par results for the Reefbrite XHO Lighting
Take a lookie here at what par we're getting with just 4 48" XHO reefbrites. This testing method definitely is not lab grade, but it will give us a great idea of what we're looking at with this particular setup, and I'm pretty happy with it!
