A few months ago I decided to take the plung and try a clam. I got a nice Crocea from The Aquarium for a good price. Anyway he has been doing good but with one issue. I put him in the tank upright in the sand and during the day(or night) he shifts untill he is at a 45 degree angle from the top of the tank. I would upright him when I saw this(reading in a book that you should) but he would just do it again. This has gone on since I got him and I've repositioned him twice a day at least. Anyway for the last two weeks I decided not to repositon him anymore, and he hasn't moved since. This angle is towards the frount of the tank and offers a better view of him so his repositoning is a good thing for me. Should I be concerned that he doesn't like to be upright?
I've also had a Dersa(Thanks vangvace!) for two weeks upright that hasn't shifted at all. ------------- Aquariums, Coins and Models... Can it get any better? Anthony Kochevar 20 Gallon with Softies and Clams. |

If he's tilting towards the front, maybe he's just getting better light exposure from above and reflecting off the front glass inwards. If he does it himself I wouldn't worry about it one bit. My own clam shifts itself more towards the front than directly upright as well, Maybe they're just show-offs. ------------- Murray, Utah just north of the park. If there is a window in the room, I'll bet the clams are facing partially towards it while yet receiving good exposure to the tank lights. Never underestimate the power of sunlight.
