Personal suggestion is to save a little bit more money and buy a refractometer. They are a lot more accurate IMO. ------------- Molon Labe Si vis pacem, para bellum |

I will get a refractometer later but the thing is I'm using the one that floats from petco but I don't feel safe using it and the thing is that I'm only 14 and just have a gift card and would like to use it to buy a hydrometer for now ------------- 210 Mixed Reef 20 Nuvo nano reef Learn your tank, not the hobby |

The floating hydrometers are actually pretty accurate; more so than the "swing arm' ones ------------- - My Current Tank: 50g Starfire Cube Reef * Marine & Reef tanks since 1977 * |

| Mine is a Coralife brand. I don't recommend it because each time I use it I have to tap it a few times when I put it on a flat surface to get the needle to move to the right place. It is almost new, I rinse it with fresh water each time I use it, but it has always been this way. The first time I used it my salinity was sooo high I couldn't believe it. Once I figured out that I need to fill it to the line with the tank water and then tap it a couple of times when I place it on a flat surface the needle does seem to move to the right place. I am going to purchase a refractometer this weekend and you may have my hydrometer if there is some way you can get close to Bountiful -- I could meet you somewhere and give it to you. |
