So, last night, I went and fed the fish - and I made sure they were all eating well and healthy. This morning, I went to turn my tanks lights on - and I noticed something was missing... One of my baby clownfish, and I thought the worst and looked all over the floor, and sadly there he was. I dont know how long he was on the floor - most likely all night cause when i picked him up he was completely dry:( So now this leads to a new question -should I get another one to keep my other one company - but would they fight? Should I not get the same type or should I? Should the new one also be a baby? Any help or tips would be awsome R.I.P

Would it just be a bad idea to get a new one and will the other be fine?

Sorry to hear about your loss :(
I'm no clown expert but I think if you do get another one you need to get the same type. Also you need to know if you have a female or male. Since you are saying baby its possible yours still havent matured to a certain sex yet. How big is the one that you have? Hopefully someone with more knowledge steps in.

Ya I dont know if at that size they have changed sexes. So if it hasnt then you could probably get another juvenile that is the same size or slightly larger or slightly smaller. That way the larger one turns into a female and the smaller one turns into a male.

It will be happy alone, or you can add another small 1" to 1.5" with no problems (they may challenge each other to determine who will be the dominant female).

If it's Occelaris, it will get along fine with other occelaris and percula clowns just fine and any of the morphs, snowflake, picasso, mocha etc. I've never had problems joining occelaris and percula, infact, I had 2 O. Clowns and one died, the larger female died, so I went to the LFS and picked up a small misbar onyx perc. They paired up within a couple days and actually started hosting in an anemone, which the pair before wouldn't actually do. Your best bed would be to pick up a clown that is obviously smaller, this will ensure that there are no issues. You could also go obviously larger, like a sub adult.
