I am thinking of getting a larger tank and I would like some input. I would like to go with a 120g or larger tank. I have been thinking about going with a 150g a 48”x30”x30… I have a 75g right now and would like more height and more room on the sand after the rock wall. I really like the look of a 90g tall tank I just don’t think that there seems to be enough room on the sand. I have even though about going with a tank in the 200g range. I have about 7.5 feet of open space on the wall that I have my tank set up on right now. I would love some input on lighting, return pumps, flow pumps and so on. I know that a larger tank will cost some $$$ but with the cost of gas staying home more will pay for the tank in no time ;-) Thanks. ------------- 220g , large elite aquatics sump. 3 Radion Pro Gen 3 lights 3 Mp 40's |

I prefer a tank about 24" tall, where my hand can reach the bottom without diving. At least 24" of depth (front to back) makes aquascaping easier and better looking. | Ive been looking for awhile and I have 72g bow. Not really wanting a 6' tank. So for me a 24"x24"x48"will do great and i also get to use most of my old equipment to off set the price of all new lighting etc a totally new set up would cost . Much cheaper upgrade for me and has more depth front to back which I am looking for anyway . Just my opinion. |

Go big! We recently upgraded our 90G of over 16 years to a 265G. Just over 7' long. We love it. Only regret- not going bigger. 300G DD would have offered move room front to back. We are in process of setting up 72x24x24..... We REALLY didn't want to go taller than 24 for the same reason Mark said. My husband wanted to be able to reach the bottom without some sort of inspector gadget type device. He is short, and I am shorter :) We are having a ton of fun brainstorming rock ideas for the 6 ft length! and with this being the on the third wall of the fish room (parallel and perpendicular walls are already taken with tanks) wider than 24 wasn't really an option for symmetry purposes (I am a bit OCD)..... Sooooo this was really the only option for us to go longer. As for cost, I say wait.... and be patient.... and patient.... SOMEbody here will be tearing down a tank quick and need your money! The more patient you are, the better deal you are going to get. We bought equipment as we saw it knowing what size tank we were going for, then waited for the tank to come to us. I say, make a shopping list, and wait for it to come to you..... it will. I have seen at least 3 complete teardowns this week alone. We bought an MP40 new, and ordered a custom skimmer from Elite Aquatics, but the rest has been bought with time and patience. |

Akira, That is what I am missing with my 75g tank also. then I was thinking I would like to do just one upgrade to a tank that I liked the most. I really like the look of a 210 but not sure if I want the cost of that big of a tank. I know there is more start up cost in a larger tank like that but there had to be so pertty big advantages for the cost. This is where the information helps me pick the bet option for me. Because the smaller the tank the sooner I can upgrade but will if just want a bigger tank. | When i did my set up in my 72 I bought 100lbs of rock, I have sold and gave about 40 lbs away , To me it still seems as i have to much . A 24'd by 24' W would give me just enough room . I contacted Fireshrimp and will prob do custom stuff . all my equip is used and it wasnt much compared to new . 72g bow & stand $150, Nova extreme 6x54w , swc 160 , aqua jr with dc8, dc 4 $500 temp and PH probe, elite aquatics 30g sump $300, mag 6 return (after trades $30) , and a few other goodies. Plan was if i need it like a junkie I can always reuse my all but tank and stand. My tank is only 6 months running , and when I move in Auq or sept I will go bigger and only sell my tank and stand . Then the swc and lights will be for sale .will use a elite skimmer and Radeon lights X2 |

| Seeee so I say, if you are patient and work on the equipment as you can or as you see it listed. (there have been two MP40s on the forum this week, both in seperate posts for $350 each saving you $100)...... then you get the tank after you have everything else on your shopping list..... all will be good! |

| +1 Mc i waited and did my home work for 2 months , then spent 1 more month waiting while i refinished stand redid silicone and a great package appeared. Patience isnt in just waiting to add new stuff but waiting to build also ....... |
