I have a small amount of bubble algae in my display.  I also have a bit in my sump.  As of last night, I now have 3 emerald crabs.  Is there any recommendations as to how I can eliminate this stuff before it gets out of hand?

Manually remove as much as you can. Mark had suggested in the past to pop the bubbles of any remaining ones you can't get as it makes it easier for the CC to eat them.

I just noticed one tiny ball of bubble algae in my tank last night on a recent frag I purchased. I hate that stuff.

So , will 3 emerald crabs be sufficient?  What about spores?  I recently read that the spore thing may not be accurate?

I don't want to put any cc in my sump do I?  the ones in my sump will be the easiest to remove.

Emerald crabs can be hit or miss, but usually they will take care of the issue. It all depends on how much other algae they have to graze on. In my 46 gallon 2 is about right to keep it in check. I have one or two bubbles show up on occasion, but they never spread because my CC along with the emerald crabs take care of it.

I also would not worry about the spore issue, and I would only pop them if you notice that they are not being taken care of by the crabs. Also I would not worry about putting crabs and such in your sump, you can, but I don't think it is all that necessary. For your sump I would just manually remove it.

Thanks

I only have 1 in my display that may be hard to remove.  It is bubbling up from a crevice in my rock.  I may need to pop that one.

I put 3 emeralds in my 125 and they took care of the bubble algae I had. I think three should be fine, just give them a little while to find them.
