I've had a 5 head frogspawn for several years.recently it looks as if 2 of the heads are detaching from the coral? What causes this and what can I do to help this coral?
Thanks in advance for any help

Can you clarify, is the tissue coming off the heads or are the branches breaking?

One of the heads seems to be virtually detaching from the skeleton

Did you say that it has had 5 heads for several years?

May we see a pic of the entire tank along with a pic of the sump/Refugium if there is one?

I've had this happen a couple times and it seems like once the tenticles start leaving the skeleton they don't recover. If it were mine I would frag off the affected heads to prevent if from spreading to the unaffected heads.

Have you noticed any fish nipping it lately? I had a frogspawn start to recede after growing out a ton. I finally found out that it was my foxface eating the tentacles.

This happened to mine after a peppermint shrip decided it wanted to pick at it.
