Ok so I am putting a threaded John Guest fitting into a peice of acrylic. I have the tap and everything. The question is should I use teflon tape on the threads or use some silicone ? What would work best? Thanks for any help.

Will you ever want to undo it? Isn't that why they use teflon tape?

But, silicone isn't that strong, so I think its sixes!

Definitely a little dab of silicone on the threads (it'll back out later, if needed). Also, don't run the tap all the way to the end. Just thread enough that the fitting is pretty tight going in. Oh, and if you're using acrylic thinner then 1/2", glue another small piece of acrylic on the other side to make the tapped portion thicker.
