A month or do I posted about a bleached monti I had acquired. It has since colored up and is doing well, but it's no longer the beautiful koolaide purple that it was originally. It's now a muddy brownish purple. I had it under 36 3 watt LEDs, when it began recovering, but my LEDs power supply crapped out so I have a 14k 250w metal halide supplementing til I replace the supply. I have it in the lower 1/4 of the tank. Under my LEDs it continued to bleach higher than half up. Ideas?

how big of a tank? Done any water changes lately? How old is the light?
I noticed my stuff begins to brown if i dont change water often enough. They might brown due to low light levels. Try moving it higher with the MH?

i would say its from the 2 different lights. my grape faded with leds and then came back. i got my frag from tileman and im pretty sure his were under halides. my grape likes lots of light and medium flow. whats your params like?

I raised it to the top 1/4 and now it's getting it's purple back. Since the power supply on my led blew, and a couple LEDs with it, I think they were being over driven, too much from the LEDs. I've got an electrical engineer repairing it, I'll make sure they are dialed to 750mA and I'll post a reply when I get it back on the tank to see how the grape takes it.
