Topic: shrimp killer!!! Posted: October 16 2005 at 12:56am |
OK here's the deal... I went and got 2 very large, gorgeous skunk cleaner shrimp to add to my tank and all looked great.... for about 10 minutes. Yep, out of nowhere, my shrimp vanished... I looked everywhere and finally noticed some seriously intense white, long whiskers hangin out of my squirl fishes mouth. I know they can be preditory of inverts like crabs and shrimp, but the shrimp were as big as the fish so I thought I was safe(the shrimp, I mean). I tried for over 4 hours to get that fish out without rippin up my display with no luck. Then I thought...'can't hurt to fish him out'... so I did just that and voila..
... with my daughter's Barbie pole and a piece of shrimp, I got him an about 2 minutes. No worries about him... he's found a home in our wall tank with a few damsels, a diamond goby, and some astrea snails.
Thought I'ld share...
Jason

Glad you got the sucker, too bad for the shrimp thought. They are so cool to watch.

I'd say it was bound to work.
Adam (ps- I heard there is a city ordinance in Brigham City that says all residents must own a Peach Days t-shirt, is that true?)

Sorry... I was too busy watching Chelsea laugh at me while she was posting my dilema all over our board and chatting with our members with a play-by-play.

I have a squirl fish and they definetly are shrimp eaters however for some reason mine left my cleaner alone and just ate pepermints. unfortunatly the cleaner was takien out by interceptor.
Nice picture BTW
