So the 220 is on the back-burner until I get the basement remodeled...In the mean time I picked up this 48x24x12 from Eric as a place for all my coral so I can take down my 135 and complete basement construction.

I used a good urethane to set the top with the empty tank set on top to make sure it's nice and flat

Then I used a thin dense pad on top under the glass and on the pan

Then I couldn't resist buying one of these awesome sumps from Eric...only thing left is to plumb everything and skin the stand and make it pretty :)

Getting pretty excited now. After consulting with Eric again, I decided to go with an external return, so he ordered the pump for me and is coming over tomorrow to plumb everything up :)

I love shallow reefs. Tsunami I think you have a buyer for this one when you get back to setting up your 220! I love this tank!

Whoooohooooo it floats!!! I'm so glad I decided on the external return pump! So many advantages, but the noise factor alone is worth the extra 70 bucks...I'll replace it once a year if it'll stay this quiet...you can hardly even hear it :) Hopefully I'll get the back painted, level the stand, and fill it with salt water over the weekend. Still need to come up with a slick way to hang my fixture

Thanks for all the compliments :)

What kind of pump is it? I'm looking for a really quite external pump.

So here is the latest... Painted the back, came up with a cost-effective light hanger mounted to the stand...yay no holes in the new paint, and I'm only into it like $10 :) I have it positioned, and only need to level and it's ready to fill with SW. I replaced all my RO/DI filters yesterday...almost there, just need about 10 more gallons.

K so I filled it a few days ago with SW, then 3 days ago added a heater, sand to the refuge, and a refuge light. Today I added rubble and tested the water...plan to seed it with some live rock from my daughter's tank, as I know it is pest free. The test results using Oceanic with new RO/DI filters: Mag 1020...dosed 200ml solution, retested at 1200, then dosed 100ml more; Cal 450 :) Alk 8.9 dosed 50ml solution; salinity 1.0245...bumped that up just a bit to 1.025. All said, 71 1/2 cups salt, 70 Gal water.
