 Topic: Rose bubble tip anenome split!

I came into my office this morning and long and behold my 44 gal. tank gave birth to a new Rose bubble tip anenome. It must have split over the weekend. This is almost as exciting as having my first child (shhhh, don't tell my wife). This is awesome.

Carl,
I missed the whole splitting experience. My tank is at my office. With all the "honeydo's" on my list I didnt get a chance to come into my office. Plus, I didnt have a clue it was going to split. 
I could take some pics. But yours are by far the best .

Is this the same anemone that you were worried about? Right before mine split it shriveled up, I thought something was wrong with it.

This is not the same anemone that I posted about. That one still looks sick. I am not sure what kind he is. It was white (Jared or Torghn) told me is was probably bleached. But, a few months ago it got into a stinging match with my Red Bubble Tip. The Red Bubble tip lost, and found a new home. After the stinging he started to turn a darker tan/purplish color. I will have to take a picture of him and get an ID on him. The stinging match took place a few months ago, so I dont think his current state has anything to do with it. He still looks unhealthy. He has constricted in his lower tentacles and his body looks hard, not rubbery or jelley soft like he used to. His color is still good however, and my matted Gold Stripes still like to host in him. Go fig... I am just thankful for a great site like UtahReefs that gives me plenty of knowledge and great people to talk to.

After a war like you described the winner may be the red bta because it had enough sense to move! I've seen coral take 3-4 months to start to recover from a heavy chemical/stinging battle and only then do they start to grow normal again.

I appreciate your insight. I did not even think about it the way you explained. I simply saw it as the one that moved, lost!
Possibly, because of the stinging- then dose of salt fragment, it made him more sick . Jared (Torghn) came and inspected my new bta... He inspected my other bta (the sick one) and recommended that I offer up small bits of formula one to it 1-2 a week. Maybe this will help him regain some of his original fullness.

So will time IMO. Don't try to force it. They do not depend on food to live and thrive, especially when they may be ticked off. Is the mouth tight or is it open?

Carl,
His mouth is tight, not open. His face is open to about 3" diameter. His tentacles are constricted in- length are about 1/8" to 1/4"- have been liike that for well over a week. I did feed him a little bit of brine shrimp before I left last night. He does look a little fuller/plumper then he did yesteday. But still does not look happy .
