Author: 80cent
Subject: 63625
Posted: April 11 2013 at 3:45pm

I am getting ever closer to setting up my 50 gallon, and first reef tank ever. One thing I am really confused about is the sump. I got a 20 gallon sump from KSL last night-- my wife thinks I'm boring for getting excited about that-- but since my tank is a bowfront, I do not have it drilled.

I'm assuming I'll need to have a hang-on overflow box, but I don't know what gph I need. Does that need to meet certain criteria based on the pump that I get, the sump volume, or the tank? How do I figure all of that out and avoid pouring my water all over the place?

Thanks!
