I had it with a big pump that also pumped water into a frag tank and split into this skimmer I think it was a reeflo dart way to big for just a skimmer) but I cant remember the exact pump. If you want a quite reliable pump I like Eheim you will pay more for one of these though something like a mag3 would work on a budget

I have used that skimmer it is easy to setup and works well. Tyler also makes some fantastic skimmers (user name elite aquatics) he lives in Ogden I believe not sure how much he charges for them though

I'm a first timer/new addict setting up a 55 gallon aquarium w/20 gallon sump.  I have the usual headache it seems many get when shopping protein skimmers and was wondering if anyone has tried the latest AquaC Urchin Pro and what their thoughts are?
 
I'm also looking at Bubble Magus models as well since it seems they are recommended to beginners by a few people in these forums, but not sure which would be best for my setup.
