You might be thinking of brine shrimp. Good quality Mysis like "PE Mysis" is actually very healthy.

If you have other fish in you display I would just treat your whole display tank with Prazipro. It's completely reef safe. Treating any possible parasite is top priority. Once that is taken care off, I would suggest adjusting his diet.
