    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=2798">Luckedout</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 45078<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> December&nbsp;01&nbsp;2010 at 11:51pm<br /><br />Which for a new guy there are lots of different types but typically in aquaria they use 10k, 14k or 20k bulbs. 10 k is towards the yellow more sunlight spectra and 20k is more blue. 14k is right in the middle, but color can vary by brand as well.<br><br>Phoenix 14k's are very blue but an Ushio 14k is very yellow. <br><br>I've switched to 20k and I quite like the way it makes my corals pop. Some people might think it's too blue but I really like it and I'm still getting really good growth. <br><br>Also with 20k you'll get better coral color but now as good growth and 10k is the opposite.. good growth, no color. <br>]]>
