Tell that to my lobo and acans!

I had one Peppermint shrimp in my tank and he found his way to the toilet very quickly. I came upstairs one night and saw my peppermint shrimp taking chunks out my of Lobophyllia brain. I tore the tank apart and caught the little terd and flushed it.

If you search around you will find quite a few threads where Pep shrimps have turned and decided to eat coral. They really like frogspawn if they get started.

So they are not completely reef safe. They can turn at any time.

I am still wondering what the brighter orange things are. their tentacles are much longer and thin like thread.

You are off to a good start. Those are not as bad as some people my think. They are called Aiptasia or Glass Anemones. They are easily removed by hungry Peppermint Shrimp. I have recently written here about how to ensure that those shrimp are huingry when introduced. If you can post a pic, we can help more.

Here is my current deal. I bought some live rock from someone. It has some of those little brown anomies( I am told these are bad and I will work to rid myself of them the best I can). Ity also has some wierd orange things. There are these long orange strands flopping in the current, then I noticed something stuck to the front of the tank. I has a sort of tubular shaped body about 3/4 of an inch, and then these long skinny strands(tenticles maybe, the look like string). The whole thing is a rust orange color.

Have I caused myself some problems?
