You could always use phynolic rails and teflon gliders for the drawer.
Then you will never need to worry about rust.Wink

I used metal, powder coated drawer guides with no problems. Thats probably true.  I keep telling my wife that when I graduate with my masters, I'm going to teach at BYUH, and teach scuba in my spare time... She doesn't seem too keen on the idea, and since out of the two of us, she's the only one who's ever lived in Hawaii, her opinion is more valid than mine... at least according to her... As I build my new stand I keep coming up with new questions along the way:

Should I avoid using metal drawer guides?
 
This is the first time I've had a drawer in my stand. Every thing else that's metal that I've stored under the stand rusts. I can make my own guides out of wood, but it would be  easier to just buy one. The guides are epoxy coated so that should help. Just curious what you all think.
 
I bet Dion has something for me as usual.
