Guys,

My tank is being over ran with red bubble algae.

What are the causes and how do I get rid of it?

Nitrates - 5
Phosphates - .02

I’ve tried manual removal but they come back more fierce than before and also have an emerald crab that doesn’t touch the red.

I’ve heard horror stories of having to do a complete tear down and start all over which isn’t something I want to do.

You can inject them with vinegar or Aptasia-X. If you do this do small sections at a time and not the entire tank.

You may need more than one emerald crab (I find the smooth shell females do a better job than the males).

Rabbit fish have been known to eat bubble algae as well.
