One up high for surface tension and one low back behind your live rock. IMO...

Trevah - I would put one up high on the left side facing right and one down low behind your rocks on the right facing left. Ideally, if you had one more powerhead and you could two up high and face them straight forward so that the water curls down when it hits your glass, that would be the best.

If you can mount them so they are easily adjusted - then whenever you think about it - change the position and direction of the flow.

I have heard of people mounting PHs on magnet in order to do this.

IMO - the more random the current the better.

Otherwise, it sounds like Marcus nailed it.

Only two powerheads is what I used in a 75 for many years. It's the tank in the Gallery.
The powerheads were at opposite back corners pointing diagonally toward each other, the streams hitting about 4 inches in from the front of the tank. The streams were also angled slightly up to make the surface water roll and where the streams hit there was a good amount of turbulance that caused some medium sized bubbles to swirl downward. The Yellow Tang loved to chase and eat those bubbles!
After some experimentation, this setup seemed to give the maximum amount of turbulance and surface water movement satisfiying the crucial need for upward circulation and gas exchange at the surface. It causes two circular movements of water, one for each powerhead.

Here are the pics grabbed from the Gallery Page
