I always figured the excelerated growth on the powerhead was due to the fact that it's hot. The elevated temperature caused the algae to grow faster. But I really don't know. Just something I've wondered about... So you figure it's just the fact that they're smooth surfaces? I wonder why algae would prefer smooth surfaces?
Do you think there is something about petroleum products that's good for our reefs?
I'm considering a little exploratory drilling off the east slope of "Finch Reef"...
