Great pic!  I love Pompom xenia.

Can anyone verify that that first pic is really pom pom xenia? I thought pom
pom was white. This one looks pink or tan-ish. It's still cool though.

It's definately pom pom, you can tell by the big fluffy polyps and the shape of it. They look like pom pom balls.

cool. I guess there are just different varieties and coloration. Maybe it even
depends on the lighting. I've seen John Fletcher's and I just remember it
different for some reason.

Yeah it's pom pom.  I think the lighting of the tank have a lot to do with xenia's color.  Under brand new (10K) bulbs my pom pom is silver/white, but right now under old bulbs it's more pinkish.

Does xenia like to be at the top of the tank near MH with lots of current or
little current and not fully exposed to the light? Should I acclimate them to
the light slowly? I just acquired this piece from Marc so I'm wondering how
to give it the best care. I've tried xenia before but not with my current tank
nor with MH and not with a great amount of success.

It loves the light, but you might want to start it in the middle and it will find its way to the top, mine started at the bottom on the sand bed and left its rock and went all the way to the top of my tank via the side glass of my tank.

IME pompom likes a lot of light but will do just fine at the bottom of the tank.  I have noticed mine is the pink color shown in the picture but when it starts to grow a new head it will turn white until the new head is established. Or if you cut it, it will also turn white for awhile.
