Just started this the first week of Feb. 2017:

*.5 Gallon PetSmart TopFin Calm All Glass Betta Tank

*DIY Filtration area made out of Black Styrene Modeling Sheets .030" Thick

*AquaOne P150 40 GPH powerhead turned way down.

*EcoPico White/Blue LED light

*Filtration media is Walmart Aqua-tech Hex 5 filter pad with carbon. (I've used these for years on reef tanks)

*A teaspoon each of Purigen and Chempure Elite to a media bag for additional filtration.

No heater is in the tank but it is staying n the mid 70's temperature wise. Nothing is glued in the tank everything is removable.

I was thinking just having it be a small invert tank.  What do you think, am I nuts to try this? Thinking just a couple hermits and a small cleaner shrimp for now.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I'd like a couple more corals for the top level.  Any thoughts on what would do well?

I think that the green star polyps and the mushrooms will cover the top very soon. But if you want more coral I would think that a green toadstool would be good. That is the smallest tank Ive seen. I hope it grows well for you.

some Dragon's Breath Algae would be cool on the top.

An update on my tank.  Most of my Zoas died but the Green star and xenia took off!  Had to thin the xenia last week.
