yeaaa, don't get discouraged. Just do the maintenance when you can and don't overfeed. A bad sump isn't bad... the more stuff growing down there, the less bad stuff growing in your main tank. Sometimes life gets a bit more important than a tank. Throw in some carbon, GFO or equivalent, and do a quick water change and that'll help.

I cleaned everything a little today and found multiple dead snails. Some stinking, others completely eaten. Three were large turbos. So I have hope things can get better without changing anything after removing this source of waste. I still want to revamp the sump, and maybe get a skimmer, but just so I can feed more. When I put the tang in it showed ick, but after feeding nori often, it seems happy.

After not paying attention to the tank (I blame the deer hunt), all the caulerpa in my sump died. I think it grew too well and then collapsed. I should have been pulling some more often. So I figure it is a good time to add the skimmer that has been waiting. It needs time to break in. Still, everything is looking good.

I sold the tang. I'm not going to be able to upgrade for a long while. But I think I'll keep what I have. It is easy enough and I have a good balance right now.

Things are looking great but I'm thinking of selling again. I only enjoy this tank for an hour or so a month. And I only maintain it for about the same. I haven't tested the water for a year, give or take. And I have a full box of salt because I never do water changes.

Sometimes I think I should give this whole thing away. Like I could do an essay contest and let others on here vote for the winner or something like that.

Is this worthless? I can't even get a response when thinking of giving it away?
