I'm going to build a few things with acrylic for my new setup. My first question is, where can I buy acrylic locally, specifically black acrylic? Second, can I cut it with my table saw? If so, do I need a special blade?

Thanks!

delvies plastics in salt lake city is good for acrylic.   I cut it on my tablesaw then use an edge scraper to prep for glue.

I've gotten a lot of acrylic from Regional Supply in SLC. They cut a few cuts for free, but they are likely not super accurate. I've built photo boxes, etc. for my photos, that are watertight. They offer all kinds of colors and have them in stock. I've gotten blue, green, black, clear, etc.

The guys at Delvies have always taken good care of me and very helpful and they cut to size if you request it.

I would say regional isn't much more then delvies, I think it was $5 cheaper but I still had to cut it vs regional cutting it.

You just need a fine tooth blade. If you don't have it, I have them at work and can cut them for you.

Delvies is great for small pieces, if you want full sheets I suggest either Sabic polymer shapes or Laird plastics in Salt Lake. Get cast acrylic. 80 plus tooth blade for acrylic, router finished edge is best for gluing, but as mentioned you can scrape the edges but very time consuming. We do offer CNC router cutting services as well if you want to go that route.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I only need to make a few cuts, I'm just adding another baffle or two to my current acrylic sump. I have an 80 tooth plywood blade for my table saw, it sounds like that should work fine.
