Just keep everything stable and don't stress him out And he should be fine.

Agreed. Feed good don't mess with the tank or add anything new and it will go away.

when my blue got ich I only started with some garlic in the food. Not sure if that made a difference but I added a UV about a week later. I did loose my sail fin but the hipp came around and was fine after. Garlic , UV who knows could have been less stress due the sailfin leaving the tank. Good luck hope it passes soon.

I've never seen concrete evidence of garlic curing ich. I'm not saying it doesn't but my opinion is that the garlic triggers the fish to eat and that it's actually the fish eating that allows it to overcome the ich. Imo the only things that will truley "cure" ich is copper or hypor salinity. Good luck with your Tang!

Garlic can rid humans of parasites (also helps you to not get bit by mosquitoes), in fish all the evidence is anecdotal but there are plenty of people that swear by it...

I used straight garlic powder when I had a couple delicate fish with Ich, they ate it like any other food and everyone survived, it for sure doesn't hurt.
