Just to keep this updated. I thought I would share what I am doing now.
I decided to try an ATS (algae turf scrubber) to see if it would grow better than my macro algae. And so far it does seem to grow better.
I had most everything but the screen which cost about $0.60. And it took me about 30 min to put it all together. I have a 2700 K on one side, and a daylight on the other (both are the curly cfl lights).
2-16 parameters (only the ones that are effected, temp, salinity, ect all stayed the same)
pH 7.9
Phos 0.42
ammonia, nitrate,nitrate all undetectable.
2-21
pH 8.2
phos 0.22
ammonia, nitrate,nitrate all undetectable.
2-26
pH 8.1-8.2
phos 0.09
ammonia, nitrate,nitrate all undetectable.
Here are some pictures. Just after the pictures I took today I scraped it off (you are supposed to clean them every 7 days, and it has been 10, but it didn't start growing until about 5 days).
2-21 Just a little algae (been running for about 5 days)
2-26 daylight side (at about 10 days)
2-26 2400k side (at about 10 days)
