That nuking method would certainly ensure the total death and cleaning of the entire LR. My opinion is that it would be unnecessary to kill an entire rock, inside bacteria and all. I don't think that is what Jeff is looking for, is it? I believe he just wants to clean off some undesirables and quickly replace it in his tank. Jeff, what is it you are trying to clean off the LR? The hydrogen peroxide dip was proposed by a guest speaker several months ago and I have seen several people here say that it worked well. I was not at the meeting so maybe someone that was, could chime in.

Just buy the regular strength peroxide from the store and drip it onto the stuff you want gone. Then rinse in RO a couple times and put it back in your tank.

No you shouldn't need to. If any majanos survive you can repeat the treatment. It should get rid of all of them fast and easy.
