I don't know. But I'm thinking maybe I should try my hand at it... I'm curious as the the particular fields of study and kind of work that you do.

I am planning on going into marine biology for a masters/PhD [if i make it that far...], but currently i am working on a general biology degree (BS) at the U of U. I figure i want to be well rounded rather then just only focusing in on one field. If you would Adam, i could use any and all info. that you are willing to give me as well.

negative. I am doing a BS biology degree at the U, just for general knowledge and then will go on to grad school (somewhere else obviously) for marine biology.

I don't think Utah State has one either. You'll have to travel away or go a specialty route. Goonter give me call and I can go over your options with you. Or, just come find me at the meeting tomorrow.

Look up Mr. Viper here on the board, I am pretty sure he is selling his tank to move out of state to finish/do a degree in marine biology.

There are no marine biology degrees in utah per se, here is a good link, http://www.ehow.com/list_6039270_schools-marine-biology-utah.htmlCrystal and I are both fisheries biologists, crystal is getting her masters from utah state, i went to ohio state for my M.S., the american fisheries society has a professional certification program that you can complete. You send them your transcripts and work history and they evaluate whether or not you meet the criteria and professional experience to be considered a certified fisheries biologist, these credentials are verifiable as far as i know there is no such manner in the marine field because as i mentioned it is far too vast and often includes fisheries, mammals, and physical components of the ecosystem The scripps institute for oceanography would be one of my top choices, for masters programs it really doesn't matter where the school is based just what professors have connections and can obtain funding to get you to the tropics to work, thats what i would look for.

molecular biology in corals and fish as well as the reef ecosystems and some personal studies within the personal and professional aquarium hobby. That is basically it... I'm sure I could currently perform most if not all of the studies that I have in mind *though it would take me several years* I'm just looking for a way to get paid to do it or at least not have to lose money on it.

Hey Goonter- hope it helped out. I think you're on the right track. If you stick with the U you can still get the degree (it takes some work, but I did it). Tycallsky- just meet up with me sometime and I'll give you the whole talk I gave Goonter last night.

Ok this is getting rediculous.... First off let me say that I think it is great that adam is so involved in the reef hobby and promotes it so enthusiastically However I think the I'm a marine biologist sharade has gone on long enough...if you are saying you are because you study tanks and give talks great. But that you have a degree in it is not true!!! I researched it myself because I had heard from a few people that it wasn't true... I paid the 6.00 and rewuested a copy of your degree MS- PARKS AND RECREATION.... NOT marine biology! And there are no publications under your name.... And from what I can tell your degree is a non thesis option...which is fine... I think it is however rediculous that this charade of people believing that you have an MS in marine biology continue

I don't see a single post where Adam says he has a masters in marine biology nor do I see a single post with someone saying Adam told him his masters in marine biology. I for one know what degrees Adam has, he has more than one by the way. And I know that not all of Adam's schooling was in Utah. But I'm sure since you are doing so much research into Adam's educational background you have already looked into all of the schools Adam attended including out of the country. Or maybe you didn't, because instead of asking him directly you'd rather do very minimal research and post on the message board that he's not what he says he is. Wow, classy.
