I have the smaller one on my 55 gallon tank. Its been on there for about 6 months or so now. It has worked great but I think I need to take it off and clean it because I don't think it is switching any more. I'm not sure exactly how easy it will be to clean since the small one doesn't come apart for cleaning like the large one does. I'm thinking of getting one of the larger one for my new 210 gallon tank!

I've never been impressed with them. They take a lot of energy to switch. Energy that could be used in moving water. IMO, linear water movement gets an unfair bad rap.

I use them on all of my setups a couple of them have been moded and all of them have been bored out to not restrict the water as much and I think they work awesome and for the money you can't beat a good cheap wave maker.

I have used a couple of them for years as well. Like Chad, I bore out the inlet and outlets to ease the flow restriction. To clean, I just put the pump and scwd in a bucket of vinegar and let run for a few hours when they start sticking. Sometimes to get them started you can smack the body of the scwd with a screwdriver handle and it will knock it loose.
For the price of the larger one you might want to consider getting one of the OceanMotions units on a tank that size.

I have two 3/4" on my 120 gal... I love them. They have been running now for 1 year without any problems.

I have a better device for sale- a three-way ball valve with electric actuator. The actuator allows you to define your switching delay.

It's a 1-1/2" Plastomatic three-way ball valve with electric actuator. The ball valve is a true-union type with threaded ends.

I added the 1" last week and I love it I raised my flow and the corals and fish love it and have longer polyp extension
