I know this isnt much but I'm not much of a DIY person and I'm kind of proud i made something that works!!!  Used some old things laying around the house and made this.

looks good.  I did the same type of think using old cleaning magnets, egg crate, and gorilla glue.  Yours looks better then mine do.

Thanks for the compliment on my tank Adam I appreciate it.  Soap dishes thats a good idea too.  Do you have problems with them falling off ever?  I know my powerheads with suction cups would fall off every couple days.

Mine never fell off but I only had them in my tank afew weeks while I sold some frags. If i was going to keep them in there permanantly, I would use magnets. Pretty cheap way to go thou.

Try taking a razor blad to clean the glass before attaching the suction cups.  It's worked for me.  I think that you can have algae etc that is too thin to see, but not too thin to compromise your suction.

I just re-worked mine and made it longer but narrower. Magfloat and egg crate. It works awesome since I can easily move it when I clean the glass or when I want to introduce some new frags and lower it from the light.
