Maze/Moon Coral Growth

I picked up a dying Maze coral almost a year ago real cheap, it has done well in my tank, it has started to grow over the edges that were not dead and make a recovery.  Anyway,  I've now tried to chisel away the dead portions of the coral and ended up with four 1 to 2 inch pieces of maze coral all with living tissue around all edges.  I placed them in different locations around my tank.  Is there anything I could do to make them grow fast, heal and get bigger?  I assume that breaking them is how you frag them to begin with, I had hoped to keep it in one piece.

This coral is almost like the Fungia we fraged at the fraging class in respect that the tissue will grow over.  This is a very slow grower and there is nothing that I know of that speeds up the process.  One suggestion, put the cuttings in a place that is like the orginal spot and leave it alone.  Time will heal.
