Thanks for your support guys! I think if we can get this on the ballot, it might have a chance!! We did vote to support the Children's Museum and we are a family oriented state! We have a younger population than any other state! Can you take a second out of your MB time to email them again? They are still deciding if they will let us decide...... Thanks!! I really want a TLP !! I'd love to take my grandkids there! There is not much to do with them in the winter, except movies....(I can't afford to ski anymore!)

Guys, seeings how the MB is kinda slow today, can you find a second to email to the council people again? And, it turns out it only costs $5 bucks per house. Renters get to enjoy on us! Thanks again!!!

No, I wasn't there. I promise, I wouldn't be there. I was interviewed today, but not there, so I'm not sure who you saw on the news.

Suzy, it's on the first page in this thread... easy to get at.
The story in the paper is pretty disheartening

Maybe it was some old footage from back when you helped on the Aquavan? It really looked like you, but I could be mistaken....I'll watch at 9 pm! ((The guy looked way cute! Are you sure it wasn't you?) Anyway, I think that poll is deceiving, cause it's not 50% percent against! Right? The glass is half full sorta thing? And, it will be a push to get Utahns to pay for something they might not use. It does kinda burn me up to pay $1000 every year for a school system where I don't use any of the resources.....( I know, it's in my best interest to have an educated population, but why is the guy driving his car in front of me sooo dumb! After all the moola I pay?) And, the library, where I haven't set foot in for years....Since I got this fansypansy computer and an amazon link. And that mosquito abatement thing!! Heres some of an email from Brent Anderson: Hi Suzy, Thanks for all you are doing! Perhaps when we get the Council to vote, you can help round up LOTS of people to come to the meeting with signs and banners and such;-) I do need help rallying the grass roots effort, and, you should contact Brandon Eyre at the Aquarium (355-3474) to let him knowyou are willing to help with the seahorses. Just FYI, a reporter from SL City Weekly called me yesterday and said thatMayor Workman is NOT in favor of the Aquarium. You may want to pin her down, as her email to you is a bit vague. She can veto it even if the Council votes in favor. Keep those calls and emails going to the Council though and let me know what their response is. The Tribune has an article today about the Aquarium. Councilman Harmsen is dead set against us (and he is running for re-election...) The good news about the article is that I was not correct about it costing taxpayers $7 per year....it will cost them $5! HA! What a deal! Talk to me soon! Brent Only $5 bucks! We pay that much for mosquitos!!!

Well if he was that cute maybe it was me... in some old footage. That, has been played before so I wouldn't be surprised. I'll watch tonight as well. Usually when I'm on there people start calling me to say "Adam I just saw you on tv with some sort of fish stuff". So far Suzy is the only one saying she saw me.

I think right now, they just need your support to get it on the ballot.....If you have a minute to email the city council and let them know you want a public aquarium and you want to vote, that would really help. Right now, what they need is a building!! And, the lease will be taken away if they don't get the bond.... It's only $5 dollars......

I WOULD LIKE TO TELL ALL OF YOU HOW CONCERNED I AM THAT THE BOND FOR TLP IS NOT ON THE BALLOT FOR NOVEMBER!!!
I HAVE JUST STARTED THE REEF TANK HOBBY IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS AND I BELIEVE OUR CHILDREN DESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEE SUCH A WONDER AT OUR EXPENSE (TAXPAYERS AND VOTERS). WHY SHOULDN'T OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PART OF OUR WORLD? SINCE I STARTED MY REEF TANK ALL OF MY TWELVE GRANDCHILDREN SIT AMAZED AT THE UNDERWATER WORLD.
I WOULD LIKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE ON THIS IMPORTANT PART OF OUR SOCIETY. PLEASE PUT THIS ON THE BALLOT SO THE PEOPLE OF THIS STATE CAN DECIDE IF OUR FUTURE NEEDS THIS FOR THEIR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
RESPECTFULLY
JEFFREY N. PAGE
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO RESPOND! this is my e-mail to them.

I really like the idea of a public aquarium where it had well maintained aquariums and the live stock well taken care of. If TLP can offer this, I would vote for it personally.

Steve, they hired a guy from the Boston Aquarium to be the curator! If he can run that big honkin' place, he can do it again!

I think he might know a lot about having a public aquarium. It would be way different than our aquariums, 'cause they have kids throwing gum and tapping on the glass and running with scissors! And numerous other issues we don't deal with.....
Some in our group think maybe these guys don't know as much about running a fish tank as we do, but I think it might be a lot different to run thousands of gallons of water, than 1 0r 2 captive reefs!
I think the guy from Boston might know about the issues they deal with...maybe we should have him come talk to the group at one of meetings! We could ask him why they do things different than us, if they really do....

I'd like to ask him some tough questions, and then hopefully I would know how they plan to have well maintained aquariums with well cared for livestock. For me, it's not enough to hear, "Oh yeah, we have a plan." I'm not saying that they don't have a plan, just that I wonder why it has taken them this amount of time to get to this point. No, I don't think this is an easy endeavor. But they should have had tons of support in the beginning.
I hope that came across right. Basically, I'm agreeing with Steve as well.
