I am sure pulling for you guys in UT Co. I have seen quite a few beautiful tanks down there and Steve's (sjlopez39) is one of my favorites.

Steve, while you are showing everyone your gorgeous tank and explaining how to do it inexpensively make sure to show them your sump setup! LOL

And I will still definitely still be doing "live Blogging" myself - I'll just have to do it from the desktop computer in the upstairs Family Room instead of 'tankside'.

Then I'll just have to run back downstairs everytime the doorbell rings (which I hope is a lot of times)...

But all that running up and down is just fine with me... great excercise; and I could stand to lose a few pounds anyway LOL

I've got a small combo TV / DVD player that will be showing "Finding Nemo" on it for the kiddies...so they can eat a chocolate chip cookie, then look in my tank and yell "Hey, look Mommy - there's Meemo...Meemo!!!!"while smudging that chocolate chip goo all over the front glass LOLLOLLOL

Well the wife got home from the store with all the baking goods and started the first batch of Pumpkin cookies and the element in the over has gone out. Cry She said she had some trouble with it about a month ago and when I tried it it worked. I guess it is really out this time. I guess it's back to the store in the morning for store bought cookies. Ouch

Cry While doing my early morning inspection of the tank I noticed my Yellow Tang is laying on the sand.  He is still alive but I'm not sure what is wrong.  I put some food in the tank to see if he would respond.  He tried to swim but didn't make it far.   Cry

Maybe he couldn't handle a clean tank.  Guess I'd better go check my water parameters.

Naturally with the Reef Tour today something like this would happen.  Unhappy

I'm sorry to hear that. I guess he was stress with the thought of so many people coming to see him.

I've never heard of a tang having an anxiety attack but honestly that really does stink... I was expecting some sort of disaster with my tank this morning but so far all is well (I am currently knocking on wood).

I'm sure it was stage fright. I hope he makes it.

My Yellow Tang finally came out.  I think he has a swimming problem, maybe with his swim bladder.  He waddles a lot using his side fins, is that normal for Yellow Tangs?  He is very skinny so I think he is using a lot of energy just to swim.  I think he has been doing it since I got him which was around July, but I never thought it was abnormal.  He still likes to eat.

Maybe somebody that knows more about Yellow Tangs will stop by on the Tour and tell me if he looks abnormally skinny and if he swims funny for a Tang.

SATURDAY, 10/06

7AM:  Alarm clock buzzes. Jump out of bed. Why...?

Because it's *** REEF TOUR DAY *** that's why !!! Big%20smileBig%20smileBig%20smile

First thing I notice is the weather... not too bad Smile !

Cloudy, yes, a little cool, yes... but no real wind, and NO RAIN / SNOW! Excellent!

From 7AM to 9AM everything is a "blur"; running up / down stairs, cleaning this, cleaning that... hop in the shower, put out the food and drink, clean the tank glass, turn off the halide timers and turn them n manually... Whew! I'm bushed Sleepy

So now, everything is finally all ready and looking as good as possible...

And now the wait begins... for that first Tour Visitor.

Killing time, I snap a few pics for 'posterity':

8 AM... notice that the SUN is out ?

More pics to follow, having issues uploading (think it's my formatting)...
