my husband brought home this piece of devils hand, I am not sure if I need to stand it up in the sand or try to attach it to a rock?
anyone have any suggestions?

I'd put it on a rock and losely wrap it in either bridal veil or thread... It should attach within a few days.

You can also pin it down with a plastic toothpick, use fishing line to sew it to a rock, or just wedge it in a hole in the rock or between two rocks until it attaches.

The March 2007 issue of The SeaStar (click the blue button on the left side of the screen) has an article about the Devil's Hand coral (Lobophytum)
