I'm thinking I might make a trip out to the flats to collect Oolitic Sand and LBTR/Utah Rock. If interested, call me or post here. I'm thinking of meeting at Saltair at 6:30 AM. It takes about 2-4 hours, depending on how much is needed.
4x4 vehicle not required, but helpful.

Mark, if you get a bit of extra sand (20lbs or so) and extra rock (20 lbs) or so, in the next week or two I should be down Centerville way.  I can give you a coupla bucks for your trouble.

Only do it if you have the room; I totally appreciate it in advance if you can.

Perfect timing, I was going to drive out there for sand next weekend anyway, so count me in!

Do you mean for next Saturday?  If so, count me in as well.

We found some good LBTR, even some very large pieces. (Adam do you need some?)

I now have plenty of sand and rock at my place. Call and drop by to check coral frags too.

Mark- thanks but no, I'm fine on rock for now.  Glad it went well.  I'm worried that in a few years we won't be able to find any more rock.

I'm not worried. It's all over below the surface of those mud flats and on the slopes of many of the hills that were once under the lake.

I'm glad you are so optomistic.  I will need a ton of rock (literally a ton) next summer.

Thank you Mark for leading that expedition.

I  would never have found those places on my own. It's incredible. We're driving out in the middle of no-where when Mark stops.
Mark: "Here we are!!!"
Me: "where we are?....."
But sure enough, in that spot many wonderful pieces were found. They really took on personality when I cleaned them (an incredibly messy proposition, BTW).

Now I'm set for a while, and it was an enjoyable get-away-from-it-all trip.

thanks and thanks again!
